Tiranical

(Sonnet)

Rehearsing a repetitive refrain
That rang so hollow regarding Iraq,
The puffed up powers plot to taint and stain
And smear a neighboring nation painted black.
For oil, again, the love of which doth tempt,
Is beckoning since late they racked Iraq,
Held international law in vile contempt,
The way of Greed, that having, yet must lack.
And Greed's close cousin, tormenting Addiction,
Held hostage and hung over from Iraq,
Crafting new fictions for its old affliction,
Is masking motives for more mosques to sack.
The scheming fiends, seeking a fresh attack,
Refresh false premise to invade Iran.
