Rice Up

(on National Security Advisor Condoleeza Rice's appearance
before 9/11 Commission)

No wonder that the questions were too soft
When conning Condi took her cunning oath,
Concealed, connived, contorted, uncontrite,
To compromise the Constitution's troth.

Having traversed the corridors of power,
Much like that infamous intern, hand-picked,
Who came before within the Oval O, [1]
She's learned to concoct and to contradict,

Contemptible conduct to take in stride,
Falsehood by covert conduit to embed. [2]
The Press complicit in each header plied,
She squirms and twists where angels fear to tread.

No wonder that the cowed commission feared
To dig too deeply in the sordid dirt,
To dare to touch her with a 10-foot pole
Or take a peek up sleezy 'Leeza's skirt.

For who would want to touch her neocon,
Install her figurehead on the hot seat?
She's straddling an oil tanker's bowsprit [3]
And such a Rice is sickening to eat.
