Peacemeal

(Sonnet)

Torture amounts to Terror by the State,
According to the wife of Tony Blair,
From which pronouncement we may postulate
A marriage bed where pillow-talk is rare.
For who would bare himself who could not bare
Confession of a conversation where
Bush did so bold in Downing Street declare
He meant to kill those journalists who dare
In covering Iraq report atrocity?
So media learn to stick to standard fare,
Forgetting facts were fixed round policy,
Enabling Blair the horns of war to blare.
Now, Cherie Booth, your righteous course enforce:
The outcome of division is divorce.
