Ode to Nan Min - XI

If Muses be daughters of Zeus, and if
My mistresses Erato, Calliope,
Euterpe, Thalia, Melpomene,
And we belovèd both of Terpsichore,
Urania yet kept from me her gift.

So might the Lord, as once he said of Adam,
Declare: "'Tis not good that the man's alone,
One thing to lack, one thing he cannot own.
Let woman be, his help and comfort shown,
That Ian's lack be met in fairest madam.

Steeped and enriched in science she shall be,
In lores of physics and biology,
Computer sciences and chemistry,
Accounting and financial wizardry.
So they in union may reap synergy."

Thus should the Lord my wayward life redeem:
With aid in managing the garden granted
And holy seed in goodly soil implanted,
My former loving in despite's supplanted
Although there are eugenics in theme.
