Ode to the Other Room

If man should dance with another man
Or woman another embrace,
'Tis reminiscent of the origin
Of Argentinian grace→

In the bordellos of Buenos Aires
Where men sought weekly romance,
But with eachother in the meantime
They learned the daring dance.

And go back into Genesis,
All history can afford,
There Jacob dances at the ladder's foot
With the angel of the Lord. [1]

So let us mortals emulate
In our immortal way,
The pattern set before us
Of the wingèd hosts at play.

[1]      Genesis 32:24-30
