The
Iran Question
The prospects for U.S. invasion of Iran have been hotly
debated in political and media circles for several years
now.
But the equation underlying this supposition has several
flaws: the U.S. cannot afford it, its military cannot
manage it, Bush's popularity can not support it, and
Tony Blair, however poodlish his instincts, can not
be relied on to cock his leg at this particular lamppost.
Yet there is a deadly and terrifying fix, and soon
to be unleashed. Think about it. The Bush regime, with
its history of using terrorism fears to manufacture
consent, is now scapegoating Iran as a nuclear menace.
At the same time, a new film is released, Last Best
Chance, describing "how terrorists might buy
or steal the makings of a nuclear bomb, assemble one,
smuggle it halfway around the world, and send it on
its way to an American city in an SUV."
Now, such a complicated, clandestine, and well-funded
operation would be some feat for a group of box-cutter-wielding
fanatics, but it is an extraordinarily good fit for
the CIA or one of the other secret and unaccountable
arms of government funded by U.S. tax dollars today.
Meanwhile, the media elites are being prepped to interpret
future nuclear atrocities on Western soil as the work
of Islamic foreigners, and construction of the administrative,
legislative, judicial, and intellectual frameworks for
domestic military intervention in the U.S., especially
as a means of disaster management, continues apace.
When the next terror comes, look for the tell-tale
signs of planted evidence to finger the scapegoats,
in the same vein as a terrorist's passport that miraculously
survives the inferno, as happened with 9/11. Observe,
too, the immediate confiscation or suppression of real
evidence, in the same vein as attempted concealment
of 9/11 photos showing aircraft engines that don't belong
to the planes they are supposed to have come from, or
of footage that shows a massive explosion just prior
to collapse of the first tower, or of film that would
reveal what really created that tidy, torpedo-shaped
hole in the side of the Pentagon.
Think I'm crazy? The U.S. has a long history of staging
false-flag events to sanction its murderous escapades
against other countries, and 9/11 was no exception.
Who were the presenters of Last Best Chance?
The same men who presided over the "9/11 Commission"
whitewash that systematically shut out more than 20
true whistleblowers from the executive branch who had
real, not faked, testimony to offer (http://www.nswbc.org/membership_list.htm).
But the next episode of synthetic terrorism, when it
plays out, will fix one flaw in the equation described
above: that of restoring to Bush a renewed surge of
patriotic vengeance on which to ride his creaking craft
of conquest.
What of the other flaws, though? The treasure chest
bulging with I.O.U.s, and the European resistance? These
will be addressed by staging an unprecedented event
in a European capital -- either London or Paris, or
maybe both -- to goad the Europeans into supplying the
money and firepower which the Bush administration so
desperately craves to get its next war fix.
Remember. The easiest people for junkies to steal from
are their own families. So look for a rather serious
abuse of that transatlantic "special relationship"
or of the recently patched-up détente with the
French. This is where things play out differently from
the scenario in Last Best Chance, which looks
for a terrorist act in a U.S. capital first. I suspect
it will come in Europe first. But both are likely.
Conspiracy theory? How sick I am of hearing that hackneyed
phrase. When government secrecy reaches unprecedented
levels, and reality becomes "unthinkable,"
what else are you left with? Secrecy and conspiracy
go hand-in-hand. And we all know the official conspiracy
theory about 9/11, coutenanced by that crookèd
commission of croneys is, as we English say, "as
bent as a nine-bob note."
But the alternative is, for most minds, unthinkable
and therefore unthought. We know, too, that the Bush
administration is itching for any excuse to impose military
rule, to sweep away the last vestiges of protection
afforded us in the Bill or Rights, and finally to squash
the dissent that has been simmering for years in cages
designated as "free speech zones."
I am merely thinking what is obvious yet, by most people,
unthought. I am also following, for the purposes of
palatability to the instinct-starved mindset of today,
a "left-brain" path of logic (see also Postcard
From Tomorrow).
Meanwhile, the "right-brain" cry of given
revelation clamors
with apocalyptic alarm -- stronger, louder, and ever
more pressing -- yet, like Moses covering his face before
his fellow Israelites, I have largely veiled this source
here, knowing that most readers will not brook it.
Still, I would end on a note of encouragement. Even
Nineveh was spared from destruction when its inhabitants
repented, and King David's intercession withheld the
hand of the avenging angel over Jerusalem. In dream,
I saw the remains of a stone monument, and I heard the
following commentary: "This monument was broken
to pieces by a bird, in fulfillment of prophecy."
A lone pigeon had done this with its beak. I saw the
severed head and hands of a wicked pharaoh, formerly
commemorated in the monument, now strewn in pieces on
the ground.
Let us therefore put our hope in that lonely dove of
peace, symbol of prayer and God's favor, who may yet
peck to pieces the idolatrous ruler of this age.
