Impalatable
(on the landslide victory of Hamas in Palestinian
elections)
Hamas, in Palestine triumphing, it would seem
The former modes of U.S. foreign policy --
Assassinations, bribes, creation of dictators,
Exiles, election fraud -- cease to have currency.
When Truth, like new wine, with Wisdom allied, pours in
To the old wineskin of U.S. hegemony,
The atrophying fabric of decay gives way to show
How inconvenient democracy can be.
