Green Zone
(on the rape and murder of Abeer Qasim Hamza
by U.S. soldiers)
So Steven Green has done what soldiers do
In war, have always done, murder and rape.
It was inevitable, foreseeable,
Though Scandal profess shock, gawp, gasp, and gape.
This gang-rape of a girl 14 years old,
Smashing her head, setting the corpse ablaze,
Having already slaughtered all her kin,
Is History's tale retold these wicked days.
The definition of addiction is
Doing the same thing in vain expectation
Of different results, thus War's narcotic
Deludes and dulls the senses of this nation
Which does to countries as done to this girl.
And foresight, which hindsight so well supplies,
Offending our illiterate elite,
Is shunned to deify the Father of Lies.
