Fraternize

My brother, by that same divine intent,
That gleam in the Creator's eye were we
Made in His image, but Cain's sons are bent
Again on murdering Abel's progeny.

If to thy numbered tomb, my prayer can reach,
Knowing we kindred share a common foe,
I intercede, our common God beseech
To bring thee rescue from Guantánamo.

You are an Arab, I a Westerner,
Your skin is olive, mine of pallid hue.
Each in the other's world is foreigner,
Each fed on lies blaspheming what is true.

Yet in the Kindgom of Eternity,
The leaders banished for their crimes of hate,
We'll sup together in felicity
Where no earthly divisions separate.
