Exposed
(on U.S. treatment of prisoners at Abu Ghraib and elsewhere)
How high the banner of Democracy,
Beside the badge of Christianity,
Professes human rights and decency,
Just rule of law, pledge of nobility,
While murder, torture, rape and battery
Enforce their reign under the stars and stripes,
Inflicted by the sons of sodomy,
Proving God's love by wounding with Christ's stripes.
By genocide and necrophilia,
Brutality and bestiality,
Abuse of children, pedophilia,
We claim moral superiority.
Meanwhile, from pervert closet, Rumsfeld flushed,
Says just a few bad apples are to blame,
Hoping the sin be covered up and hushed,
But rotten is the orchard, spawning shame.
Though he impugn subordinate scapegoats
And claims the horrors in Iraq must stop,
From trailer park to palace he promotes
These war crimes sanctioned by the tops on top,
By Bush, the fetishist for dead men's bones,
Ashcroft with fishnets underneath his suit,
By Cheney, who for Rumsfeld's blush atones,
And Wolfowitz embedded at the root.
Systemic, institutionalized, the norm,
Sadism rules. The Pentagon amok
Sends sexual predators in uniform,
Its aim no nobler than to fight and fuck.
