Euphemics

(George W. Bush mulls raiding the Social Security surplus)

Oops! I spent the surplus
By giving away that tax.
I can't afford my promises
So let's revise the facts.

"A fiscal straitjacket for Congress",
Ooh, I like the way that sounds.
Let's have the press say that for us
And make the media rounds.

Let's say I did it on purpose
To cut back on government
And let it be a sign to the U.N.
We won't give them a cent.

So what if they can't pay their staff
'Cos we refused our fee?
That place is full of foreigners
And no concern to me.

Let's call recession a slowdown,
No! Better yet a correction!
Let's put a positive spin on things
In time for the next election.

And here's another slogan,
Monty Python said this ya know:
If a European asks for something,
"We are the knights who say 'No!'"
