Bombast

To reap rich oil reserves and bankroll friends,
Bush seeks the wherewithal to wreck Iraq,
A mission that for fighting funds depends
On future generations to pay back.

Doubtless to penetrate Saddam's deep lair,
Deplete-uranium shall be employed
As that which did irradiate the air
When daddy Bush like armaments deployed

So that in Basra, bombed in '91,
Babies are being born missing a head
Nor did our soldiers know the risk, not one,
When to the foe's encampment swift they sped.

Now several other nations have such arms,
Even that paragon where safeguards dwell:
Saudi Arabia, of oil-deep charms,
Is packing radioactive heat as well.

Though toppling Saddam is a worthy aim,
A cause even the saints would expedite,
It is but Bush's bid for easy fame
To wage a splendid war others must fight.
